Both Cartersville and Bartow firefighters were called to an area near the Old Ladd Mountain boat launch for an overturned kayak. According to reports, a kayaker fell from her kayak and became tangled in underwater roots. She was kept afloat by another kayaker.
The rescue occured after 3 p.m. The road was closed for a while during the rescue.
