According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, Bartow County Sheriff’s deputies and investigators responded to a death investigation at a Country Lane address on August 27, 2017. There it was discovered that 74 year old James Edward Stephens had been deceased in his home for some time.
Bartow County Sheriff’s Office investigators working with the G.B.I.
Medical Examiner’s Office and the Bartow County Coroner’s Office later discovered that Mr. Stephens had suffered blunt force injuries which led to his death.
Sheriff Millsap states that on Friday, September 8, 2017, investigators arrested Rachel Savannah Ridley, 19, of Cartersville. On Wednesday, September 13, 2017, investigators arrested Keisha Rena Cone, 20, also of Cartersville. Both are charged with Murder and Armed Robbery in connection with the death of Mr. Stephens at his home in August. A third arrest is expected in the case.
