There may be more questions about an incident involving the Bartow School System’s Chief of Police. WBHF first reported that Dan Knowles was sideswiped by a vehicle while directing traffic in the rain Monday at Cass High School.  He was taken to Cartersville Medical Center and treated for a bruised knee.  The driver of the vehicle, Dawn Teer took to social media and complained that only one side of the story was being reported. Teer said that Knowles became frustrated while directing her to move forward and that he struck her vehicle with a flashlight and then threw the flashlight at the back window, which shattered. Teer said that her children were near the area where the flashlight was thrown.  She further stated on social media that Knowles wasn’t struck by her vehicle. She said he came up with the story when Bartow County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived on scene.  It is being reported that the case is now under investigation by the GBI and Knowles has either resigned or is on leave.  Knowles advised friends on his Facebook page not to blame the driver of the vehicle involved.  WBHF reached out to Teer and the Bartow County School System for comment our messages were not returned.
