The Woodland Wildcats dropped their second region game and its third game overall on Friday night by falling to the Paulding County Patriots 44-21.

Demarcus Williams was the lone, bright spot for Woodland and was for 20 of the 21 Wildcat points. Williams scored on a 5-yard rush and then punched in the 2-point conversion to cut the Paulding County lead to 16-8 in the second quarter. He then ran the ball in from 18 yards out in the 4th quarter to stop a run of 21 unanswered Paulding County points and added a seven-yard score with 3:30 left in the contest. The Patriots would go on to score 22 unanswered in route to their victory.

Woodland will come back home next Friday night to welcome the Hiram Hornets, which will be the Johnny’s New York Style Pizza Bartow County Game of the Week and heard on bartowsportszone.com
