The Woodland Wildcats (4-2, 2-2) fell to the No. 1 team in Class 5A on Friday night by a score of 48-7.
The Wildcats looked to put up a game with Rome in the first quarter as the offense went 80 yards in eight plays to tie the score at 7 after a touchdown run from Justice Carter.
Unfortunately for the Woodland defense, Rome had little trouble moving up the field and converting third downs. Knox Kadum at three passing touchdowns, while Jamious Griffin had three rushing scores.
The competition will not get much easier for Woodland next when it hosts Carrollton at 7:30.
