An impaired driver struck a vehicle on Wednesday, sending one person to an Atlanta area hospital by life-flight. According to the Georgia State Patrol, a 2003 Chevrolet, driven by Mikah Green of White, was traveling east on Highway 20 while a 2011 Toyota Camry, driven by Cristy Garcia of Cartersville, was traveling west. The Chevrolet traveled to its left, across both westbound lanes, and off the north shoulder. It struck a guardrail with its left side and then traveled back into the westbound lanes, approaching traffic head-on. Green’s vehicle struck Garcia’s with its front, with the area of impact occurring on the roadway in the westbound lanes. Garcia was airlifted to an Atlanta area hospital, due to her injuries. Green was transported to a local area hospital due to his injuries. The GSP suspects that Green was driving impaired and charges are pending.
