From the City of Cartersville:

January 7, 2014 – The City of Cartersville Water Department will begin work on the Etowah Drive water line this week.  Work will begin at Old Mill Road and end at West Main Street.  This project will last approximately 150 days, with the primary goal of upgrading the current four-inch water line that is over 70 years old, to a 12-inch water line.  During the process, many fire hydrants will be upgraded, and several stretches of sidewalk will be replaced after the water line underneath is completed.

There will be no water disruption during this project except for the 10-15 minutes at the point in which the new line is connected to the existing line.  Those effected will be notified in advance.  Flagmen and signage will be properly placed where needed throughout the construction.  Please be patient and avoid this area if possible as the City works to upgrade this water line so it can serve the public more effectively.   If you have any questions, please contact Ed Mullinax of the Water Department at 770-607-6296.
