MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District announced today Allatoona Lake Project will be closing the Cooper’s Furnace, Laurel Ridge, and Cooper’s Furnace-Pine Mountain Connector Trails from December 18 until December 21 due to scheduled hunting activities in the area.
The trails are located off Highway 20 Spur in Cartersville. While the City of Cartersville Pine Mountain trail will remain open, the connector trail to Cooper’s Furnace will be closed. Hikers should schedule their activities at Pine Mountain Trail or at other nearby locations such as the trails at Red Top Mountain State Park.
