Situation update, 11/27/17
Press Release: The Georgia Department of Public Health Northwest Health District continues to investigate a confirmed salmonella outbreak related to a catered employee event November 14 and 15, at Toyo Tire, White, GA, that has hospitalized at least five people. We plan to conclude interviews with Toyo employees who attended the event by end of day Tuesday, November 28, and hope to identify the food product that caused of the outbreak. We will release that information, if conclusive, which it may not be, when available.
The Cartersville, GA, restaurant that catered the event has reopened as of Monday, November 27. The restaurant was re-inspected last Wednesday by Bartow County Health Department environmental health specialists and will receive another full re-inspection today.
