A white pickup truck hauling a dark-colored trailer was traveling northbound on Joe Frank Harris Parkway north of Grassdale Road last night at around 6:24. A pedestrian walked westbound into the roadway from the east shoulder of the McDonald’s parking lot. There was no street lighting in the area.

The pickup struck the pedestrian in the left lane and fled the scene without stopping. Witnesses were only able to get a vehicle color description.

The pedestrian was identified as 53-year-old Jeffrey Corley of Cartersville. Mr. Corley was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital and as of 7:00 this morning, was still in critical condition.

A be-on-the-lookout alert was given out to all surrounding agencies for the white pickup hauling a dark trailer which was last seen northbound on Joe Frank Harris Parkway.
