This occurred around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday. Initial indication is that a passenger car was traveling southbound on Cassville Road when for unknown reasons the driver, Dianne Redding crossed the center white line and struck Ron Harris who was on a mower on the west shoulder of the roadway. After impact, Redding steered to the left back across all lanes of traffic and exited the vehicle. The vehicle continued to roll forward and Redding was struck by part of the door on the driver’s side of the vehicle before it struck a tree. She was airlifted to Grady Hospital and Harris was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center.
Both victims have passed away at the hospitals this morning.
