Two accidents within an hour of each other created chaos on I-75 in Bartow County early Thursday evening. First, there was a major accident on I-75 southbound near Red Top Mountain by mile marker 286. That one blocked all lanes for a little while.

Second, Bartow County EMS worked a traffic accident on I-75 northbound just north of exit 293 (the U.S. Highway 411 exit). A vehicle driven by a male lost control, striking the guardrail and a sign before coming to a stop. The first EMS crew on the scene requested a medical helicopter for transport due to the patient having numerous severe injuries.

Air Life responded and planned on transporting the patient to Grady Memorial Hospital. However, they had to divert to Kennestone Hospital due to a severe storm over downtown Atlanta. We have no additional information on the patient at this time.
