The Emerson Police Department was assisted by the Georgia State Patrol with a wreck that occurred Monday at 1:13 p.m. on I-75 near the Red Top Mountain exit. According to preliminary reports, a vehicle traveling in the northbound lane crossed the highway and vaulted over the guard rail. The vehicle traveled into the southbound lane and struck another vehicle head-on. The driver of the car traveling in the southbound lane was struck and killed. He has been identified as 43-year-old, Kenneth Stallings of Decatur, Georgia. No other occupants were traveling in this vehicle. The accident remains under investigation.
The person killed in an accident that occurred on Saturday has been identified as 20-year-old Julian Garibay of Cartersville. According to preliminary reports from the Georgia State Patrol, the crash happened on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 12:59 pm. Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Rudy York Road, in Bartow County. A GMC Sierra was traveling east on Rudy York Road and left the roadway, where it overturned and ejected the driver. Garibay was transported to Piedmont Cartersville where he was pronounced deceased.
