Bartow County deputies were dispatched to Cartersville Medical Center just after 3:30 Thursday morning in reference to a bomb threat. The call was made from a non-working mobile phone number and “hit” off a cell tower off U.S. Highway 411 in Cartersville. The deputies, hospital security, and Cartersville Police checked the inside and outer perimeter of the hospital and found no explosive device.

Bartow County deputies were also dispatched to Walmart on Market Place Boulevard in Cartersville just after 5:15 Thursday morning in reference to a bomb threat. The store was evacuated. A deputy completed a walkthrough of the store and found nothing. The phone used by the offender pinged off a tower of U.S. Highway 411 in White. Normal business resumed at 6:30.
