It was reported that Sunday afternoon, a woman was shot by a man near the GA-20 Spur in Cartersville.
WBHF has learned that the victim was Jill Davis, who was life-flighted to Grady Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. According to residents of the area, Davis was shot at the GA-20 Spur but found refuge near a residence Sukkau Drive in Cartersville after the shooting. The property owner immediately called first responders upon finding the victim.
The shooter has been identified as David Brooks of Acworth. He was apprehended by law enforcement a few hours after the incident was reported. He has been charged with aggravated assault with a gun and is currently in the Bartow County Jail.
