A local animal welfare group has donated five heat sensors to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office

According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, the League for Animal Welfare located in Bartow County recently purchased and donated five handheld heat sensors for use. These sensors are used to determine the temperature of items and can be used to determine the temperature inside a vehicle with the windows up. Sheriff Millsap welcomed the donation and has put the sensors into use by patrol units. One such use would be to establish a temperature inside a vehicle that an animal or child was rescued from to determine if charges will be made. “The sensors are great to have to help spread the word of how dangerous it is to leave a child or an animal in vehicle with the windows up”, said Sheriff Millsap.
