Cartersville’s Ronnie Brown signed with the Houston Texans on Tuesday and participated in his first practice with the team later in the day. He was at the team’s facility on Monday for a workout. Brown played for Cartersville’s 1999 state championship team and went on to star at Auburn.
He was drafted by Miami with the No. 2 overall pick of the 2005 NFL draft, spent six seasons with the Dolphins and brief stints with the Eagles and Chargers. Brown has rushed for a career 5,328 yards and 38 touchdowns and accumulated 1,922 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 122 games according to nfl.com.
