ATLANTA, GEORGIA – Secretary of State Brian Kemp reminds Georgians that the voter registration deadline is Monday, February 1, 2016 to vote in the SEC Primary. On March 1, 2016 voters from seven states – Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia – will cast their ballots in the largest collaboration of southern states in a presidential primary since Super Tuesday in 1992.
“Because of the SEC Primary, Georgia is positioned to have a great impact this year in the Presidential selection process. If Georgians want to have a voice in this historic election, they must register to vote by Monday, February 1,” said Secretary Kemp.
Georgians can check their registration status, view their sample ballot, and find their voting location by visiting the office’s My Voter Page at https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP. Voters can also register to vote 24 hours a day on the Secretary of State’s website at https://registertovote.sos.ga.gov. Both of these functionalities are available on the “GA Votes” smartphone app. The app is available on both Apple and Android devices.
Eligible Georgia citizens can also download a fillable, postage-paid voter registration application from the office’s webpage to mail to their county registrar. Completed applications must be postmarked by February 1, 2016, for eligibility in the March 1, 2016 Presidential Preference Primary.
