A person was found deceased in a house on Highway 20, Thursday November November 27. According to a press release, at 12:52 a.m., firefighters with the Bartow Fire and Emergency Services were called to a home at 5754 Highway 20, Cartersville for a report of a residential structure fire. BCFES crews arrived on scene to find a single-story wood frame structure over a basement with heavy smoke and fire showing. Upon performing a walk-around of the structure, a victim was located; unfortunately, the victim succumbed to their injuries. The victim has been identified as 69 year old, Lynda Miller. Once crews were able to extinguish the fire, fire investigators were called to the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, November 26th, at approximately 9:39 p.m. They were dispatched to 496 Highway 61, Cartersville for a report of a residential structure fire. BCFES crews arrived on scene to find a single-story wood frame structure with heavy smoke and fire showing. The cause of the fire was deemed accidental. The home received major damage and there were no injuries reported.
