According to Georgia State Patrol reports, the accident occurred at approximately 8:43 p.m. A Chevrolet Tahoe traveling south on Hall Station Road and a Nissan Rogue was traveling north. The Tahoe crossed into the northbound lane and struck the Rogue head-on. The driver of the Tahoe, Jordan Towns (17 YOA) of Adairsville, and the passenger in the Rogue, Samuel Davis (72 YOA) of Dalton died as a result.
The Bartow County School System posted a message on their Facebook page about Towns. According to the post, Towns was a special, respectable, likable, dedicated, focused, and all-American.
