We have more on a crash that sent two people to the hospital Monday morning. The crash occurred around 7:54 a.m. on Taylorsville Macedonia Road. According to Georgia State Patrol reports, a 2005 Dodge Dakota driven by 70-year-old, Janice Salmi of Rome was traveling northbound on Taylorsville Macedonia Road. Meanwhile, a 2017 GMC Terrain driven by 49-year-old Theresa Ann Marshall also of Rome was traveling eastbound on Highway 411. The truck driven by Salmi failed to yield to traffic and attempted to turn left onto the highway, westbound. The front of GMC struck the left side of the truck in the intersection. The truck rotated clockwise and came to rest facing east in the westbound lanes of 411. The GMC traveled off the roadway and came to rest facing north after striking a ditch.
Janice Salmi was charged with Failure to Yield After Stopping at a Stop Sign. She was transported to a Cartersville Medical Center.
Salmi and Marshall were both transported to Floyd Medical.
