A suspect reportedly shot a man at his home on Hickory Lane, north of Cartersville, on Sunday morning. A deputy responded to the residence and found the victim with a bloody towel wrapped around his right forearm. Blood was reportedly throughout the house. The deputy applied a tourniquet to the victim’s arm before EMS personnel arrived.
The victim reported that 20-year-old Jon Farris Kreiden Wright, a resident of the home, had approached him about stealing his wallet. The victim said he sat on the couch and told Wright he had not taken his wallet. At that moment, Wright allegedly pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the victim’s face. The victim then lifted his arm to shield himself, and that’s when Wright reportedly shot him through the arm.
Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Kennestone Hospital. Another person in the house reported that she was asleep when she heard a loud bang. She said that upon exiting her room, she found the victim in the living room with a gunshot wound while Wright and his vehicle were no longer at the scene.
Responding deputies located Jon Wright driving on Cassville White Road and conducted a traffic stop on his vehicle. They arrested him for aggravated assault.
