Butts County Officials on Sunday released the names of the two men charged in the death of a Cartersville man whose body was found Friday morning.
Steven Alford Jacobs and Emmanuel James Nesbitt, both of Cartersville, were charged with murder and aggravated assault in the shooting death of Curtis Author Pitts of Cartersville, according to the Butts County Sheriff’s Office. The department sent out thanks to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office for their help in identifying, locating and arresting the two men responsible for the crime.
The Butts County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI’s assistance in a death investigation in Butts County of a male found on Highway 36 in Jackson, Georgia. Pitts was found with multiple gunshot wounds after a 911 call approximately 6:13 AM on Friday.
