Several teams were in action yesterday despite the rain throughout the state. The Lady Tigers soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with an 8-1 victory over Armuchee yesterday and the Lady Colonels tied Northwest Whitfield 1-1 as their record now stands at 1-1-1 on the year.

Today in baseball, the Georgia Highlands Chargers will take on Southern Union at 3:00 for a doubleheader. The Chargers are 8-5 on the season. High school baseball is also on today’s agenda, as Woodland will host Kennesaw Mountain at 5:30 and Cartersville will host Lambert at 5:30. On the soccer slate for today, Cass will host Temple at 7:30.

In basketball, the Georgia Highlands Chargers will welcome Handle It Prep at 7:30. The Chargers are ranked second in the nation and are 28-1 on the season.

Tomorrow on the sports slate the Woodland baseball team will welcome LaGrange at 5:30 and Cass will host Adairsville for an intra-county game at 7:30.

In soccer the Woodland girls will host Allatoona at 5:00 and Cartersville will host Cass at 5:30.
