The Adairsville Lady Tigers’ basketball team’s season ended last night with a 73-48 loss to West Hall in the first round of the AAA state basketball tournament. The Lady Tigers made the playoffs for the first time in 58 years this season, following an impressive run in their region tournament. Their season ends with a 13-17 record.

A local Cartersville athlete was offered another scholarship yesterday, as Trey Creamer, who has already been offered by Cincinnati and Wake Forest, was offered by Mercer.

Today on the sports slate, the Georgia Highlands Chargers will play Cleveland State at 3:00 for a home game. The Chargers are 4-4 on the season and are coming off a series against Walter’s State in which they lost three straight and were swept.

The Cartersville soccer team will host Darlington at 5:00.

Cass will open up its baseball season at home against Chattahoochee at 5:55.

The Georgia Highlands Chargers will take their 25-game winning streak to Chattahoochee Technical College tonight at 7. The Chargers are currently ranked as the second team in the NJCAA rankings and are 25-1 on the season including 13-0 in conference play.

Also in basketball this evening, the Cartersville boys team will host St. Pius at the Storm Center at 7:00. Cartersville is 20-6 on the season, while St. Pius is 22-6. You can hear this game live on AM 1450 WBHF and FM 100.3, with pregame coming your way at 6:45. Should the Canes win, they would play their second round opponent on Saturday.

Tomorrow the only thing going in sports locally is that Adairsville will host soccer match against Haralson at 5:30.
