The Excel softball team fell to Gordon Lee, the defending state champion, last night by a score of 14-1. The Lady Eagles are now 6-6 on the season. The Lady Colonels softball team picked up a region win against East Paulding Tuesday to improve to 4-9 on the season and 2-4 inside the with a 5-3 victory. Meanwhile, the Woodland Lady Cats fell to Paulding County by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday night. The Lady Cats are now 3-6 overall and 1-3 in region play.
In volleyball, both Adairsville and Cass squads split tri-matches. The Lady Tigers lost two sets to Breman but won two of three sets against Calhoun. The Lady Colonels lost two sets to Fannin County before winning both sets against Model.
There is nothing on the sports slate today, however volleyball and softball is in Thursday’s schedule.
In softball, four local teams are in action as Excel will welcome Christian Heritage at 4:30, Adairsville will travel to Sonoraville at 5:30, Cass will welcome Carrollton at 5:55 and Woodland will welcome Paulding County at 5:55.
In volleyball four local teams are scheduled for matches tomorrow with all games at 5 PM and taking place inside Bartow County. Adairsville will welcome Cass and Armuchee, Cartersville will welcome Rome and Sonoraville, and Woodland will welcome Calhoun and North Paulding.
