The Cartersville boys soccer team was eliminated from postseason action last night, as it fell to Grady by a score of 4-3, following penalty kicks. The Canes finished the season 12-5-1 and placed third in Region 7-AAAA
The Chargers were handed their sixth loss in seven games as they fell to Gordon State on Tuesday. They are now 24-25 on the season and 9-12 in conference play.
Today in sports, the Cartersville Lady Canes will host Grady at 6 PM for the first round of the AAAA State Playoffs.
Later on this week, both Adairsville and Cartersville baseball teams will start postseason play with Adairsville, which is the No. 3 seed, traveling to No. 2 seeded Dawson County for a doubleheader at 4 PM and the No. 2 seeded Cartersville Purple Hurricanes, hosting Redan for a doubleheader at 4:00.
