Three local baseball teams were in action last night. Cass fell to River Ridge by a score of 11-5 and is now 4-12 overall and 3-8 in region play. Woodland took a tough loss to Kell, as it fell 1-0 and is now 2-14 on the season. Cartersville walked away victorious with a 7-4 win over Southeast Whitfield, despite committing five errors in the game. The Canes are now 8-7 overall and 4-1 in region play.

Today in baseball, two local teams are in action. Excel will host Mount Zion at 5:30 and Adairsville will travel to Calhoun at 5:55.

Today in soccer, Adairsvile will travel to North Murray at 5:30 and Cass will travel to Hiram at 6:00.

The Georgia Highlands baseball team will be on the road Friday, as it travels to East Georgia State for Game 2 of their four-game series. The Chargers lost the first game 11-5 and are 2-3 in conference play in 2016.
