The Cartersville baseball team picked up its second region win of the season and improved to 6-6 overall, following its 5-1 victory over Northwest Whitfield Wednesday night. The Cass and Woodland baseball teams were not as fortunate, as both teams dropped region contests Wednesday. Cass fell to Dalton 15-2 and is now 4-9 on the season and 3-5 in region play, while Woodland lost to Creekview 5-4 and fell to 2-11 on the season and 1-10 in region play.
Today in baseball, Excel will welcome Mount Pisgah at 5:30 and Adairsville will welcome Hamburg to LakePoint at 6:30.
In soccer, Cass will travel to Rome at 5:30.
Tomorrow four local baseball teams are in action with all times starting at 5:55. Adairsville will travel to Gordon Central, Cass will welcome Dalton, Cartersville will welcome Pickens and Woodland will welcome Creekview.
