In local sports the Lady Canes soccer team lost to Grady in the first round of the AAAA state playoffs on Tuesday night, as they fell by a score of 3-0. The Lady Canes finished with a 10-9 record in 2016.

The Cartersville High girls tennis team also had its season cut short yesterday, as it lost to Buford by a socre of 3-2. The Lady Canes tennis team made it three rounds deep in the AAAA state playoffs.

Today in sports, the Cartersville boys tennis team will host North Hall in the Class AAAA quarterfinals at 4:15.

Tomorrow in sports, both Adairsville and Cartersville baseball teams will start postseason play with Adairsville, which is the No. 3 seed, traveling to No. 2 seeded Dawson County for a doubleheader at 4 PM and the No. 2 seeded Cartersville Purple Hurricanes, hosting Redan for a doubleheader at 4:00. In soccer on Friday, Adairsville will host West Hall in the first round of the AAA state playoffs at 6 PM.
