The Adairsville Tigers dropped to 2-6 (0-3) after a trip to Bremen to take on the Breman Blue Devils on Friday night by a score of 49-24. Roger Redd threw three touchdown passes in the game for Adairsville, but his performance would not be enough to avoid a three-game losing streak for the Tigers, who now need to win the rest of their games to be a playoff team. Adairsville will finish the 2016 season at home against Haralson County this Friday at 7:30.

The Cass Colonels (3-5, 2-4) lost a hard fought game to the Paulding County Patriots (4-4, 3-3) on Friday night by a score of 30-24 that had a wild finish. Cass got the ball at its own 20 and would have less than two minutes to drive 80 yards trailing 28-24. The Colonels would move backward and 20 yards later downed the ball in the end zone for a safety. The Colonels would then line up for an onside kick on the ensuing kickoff.

With just over 40 seconds left, Cass would recover the onside attempt and would take over at its 32-yard line. Unfortunately, the Colonels would get no further as a game-ending interception was forced by Paulding County

Cass will next travel to Villa Rica (4-5, 3-4) this Friday at 7:30 PM.

The Cartersville Purple Hurricanes moved to 9-0 (5-0) and set a new school record with their 24thconsecutive win with a 48-7 win over the Chapel Hill Panthers in Douglasville. The 24th consecutive victory is also a current state-best.

The Canes spent a majority of the first half on the Chapel Hill side of the field with very good results. The running clock in the second half didn’t slow down the Cartersville offense as EJ Turner caught a screen pass and ran past the Panthers defense for a 54-yard touchdown making it 48-7 Canes.

With another large second half lead, the Canes were able to get much-needed field time for the backups.

The offense supplied the highlights but the Cartersville defense gave Trevor Lawrence and company short fields all night long.

Cartersville has a bye week this week but will play Troup County next Friday, November 4th for a home game at 7:30 PM.
