Kobie Whitfield and Tony Dean from Cartersville both signed scholarships to take their talents to the next level yesterday. Whitfield signed to play football at Georgia Military Institute and Dean signe to Point University.

Today in baseball three local teams are in action, with Woodland traveling to River Ridge at 5:55, Cass welcoming Creekview at 5:55 and Excel playing at Armuchee at State Mutual Stadium, the home of the Rome Braves, at 6:00.

In soccer three local teams are in action with times a 5:30. Cartersville will welcome Sprayberry and Woodland will welcome Cass.

In basketball, Georgia Highlands College will host Chattahoochee Technical College in the second round of the GCAA conference tournament at 7:30.

Over the weekend, four local teams baseball teams are in action. Adairsville will welcome North Cobb at 1 PM, Excel will welcome North Cob Christian at 5 PM, Cass will host Creekview at 5:55 and Cartersville will travel to Coosa at 6 PM to play in State Mutual Stadium, the home of the Rome Braves.

At the collegiate level Georgia Highlands College will play a doubleheader against Guildford Tech at 1:00. The Chargers are currently 10-8 on the season and will open up conference play on March 15th.
