Amy Moreno, a Woodland Girls soccer player, signed a scholarship on Thursday to take her soccer talents to Georgia Military College.

In soccer, The Adairsville Lady Tigers beat Murray County by a score of 9-0, and improved to 9-0 on the season and 3-0 in region play.

In baseball, Adairsville beat Coahulla Creek by a score of 6-5. Adairsille is now 5-4 on the season and 2-1 in region play. Excel lost its game on Thursday by a score of 14-0 and was mercy ruled after five innings. Excel is now 1-8 on the season and winless in region play.

At the collegiate level, The Georgia Highlands College Basketball Team was denied a Final Four Appearance Thursday night, as it fell to Ranger by a score of 91-81. The Chargers ended the season with a 33-2 record, won their second consecutive NJCAA Region 17 Title and their second consecutive trip to the National Tournament. The Chargers also set a school record in wins in a season with 33.

Today on the baseball slate four local teams are in action and all are on the road. Cartersville will play Mill Creek at 5:30, Cass will travel to Rome at 5:50, Adairsville will travel to Sonoraville at 5:55 and Woodland will travel to Sequoyah at 5:55.

In soccer Woodland will host Sequoyah at 5:30, Cartersville will travel to Ringgold at 6 and Cass will host Creekview at 6:00.
