On Monday, June 2nd, the Adairsville Police Department reported a significant theft from a local cell tower, prompting an investigation that led to the arrest of a suspect involved in multiple thefts in the area.
APD received a report about the theft of equipment valued at over $50,000. Representatives from the cell tower informed the responding officers that similar thefts had occurred in the surrounding area. The stolen equipment included a significant amount of coaxial cable and several batteries necessary for the cell tower’s operation.
A subsequent investigation by the Adairsville Criminal Investigations Division revealed that 25-year-old William Talmedge Streetman from Dallas had taken the stolen equipment to a recycling facility in exchange for cash. Bartow County deputies arrested Streetman on Wednesday afternoon in connection with a separate, identical theft. William Streetman now faces two counts of felony theft by taking.
