The Woodland Wildcats helped give Bartow County a sweep on Friday night by defeating Gordon Central 14-0. Both teams had stingy defenses that didn’t allow much, but the Wildcats were able to do enough to grab the victory. Asa James was the hero for Woodland as he scored two touchdowns. James took the ball 55 yards to the house in the second quarter with just 50 seconds remaining to give Woodland a lead. The Wildcats attempted a 2-point conversion but were unsuccessful. James found the end zone again in the fourth quarter on a 15-yard scamper. Johnathan Thomas converted the 2-point conversion with just over five minutes remaining to extend the lead.
Woodland will travel to Osborne High School next week to tee it up against the Cardinals with kickoff set for 7:30.
