The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team in Calhoun is asking for the public’s help in locating a vehicle and driver in connection with a fatal crash this morning on Interstate 75 near Pleasant Valley Road in Bartow County. Troopers are asking for anyone with information on a maroon or purple Ford F350 flatbed pickup truck with wooden sideboards to contact their office at 706-624-1484.
The crash occurred around 6:35 this morning southbound when a 1990 Jeep Wrangler left the road and struck a tree. The crash resulted in the death of the driver, Martin Bryan Erwin, age 56, from Dalton.
Troopers believe the Ford F350 was traveling behind the Jeep at the time of the crash and investigators would like to interview the driver. The Ford had black plastic covering an item in the bed of the truck.
