According to a press release, an inmate at the Bartow County Jail was treated and released after being air lifted to an Atlanta hospital Sunday.
According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, a 35 year old male inmate requested medical help to a deputy just before 8PM Sunday night. Deputies and medical staff responded and found the inmate alone in his cell with multiple cut wounds on his arms. The inmate was flown to an Atlanta hospital where he was treated and later released back to custody of the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office. An investigation is underway to determine how the inmate obtained a cutting device. The inmate is currently under a medical watch at the Bartow County Jail. No other inmates or deputies were injured during this incident.
