Euharlee City Councilman Craig Guyton read a statement at the council work session on Tuesday night.
“Eight years ago, I signed up to run for the Euharlee City Council. It has been an incredible honor to serve in that capacity and represent the citizens of Euharlee for two terms. As many of you know, I said upon winning that first election that I believe in term limits and because of that belief I will not be seeking a third term.
As qualifying continues this week, I would like to encourage citizens of Euharlee to be more involved in your local politics! The City of Euharlee is blessed with an amazing staff and amazing citizens. Euharlee will only continue to be as strong as the quality of persons who throw their hat into the ring to be a beacon of change that we need in this city, this county, this state and this nation.
Thank you for the honor and privilege of being your City Councilman for the past eight years!”
As of the end of the business day Tuesday, Michael Troxell and incumbent David Duncan have qualified for the two seats up for election. Qualifying ends on Friday.
