According to both the Woodland High School Baseball and former Head Coach Corey Gochee’s twitter accounts, the baseball team is looking for a new coach. While the circumstances are unclear, the school is now looking for a new baseball coach. According to their Facebook page:

“Woodland Baseball is looking for a new head baseball coach. Those interested should contact the school. There are a few teaching openings. There are also other coaching possibilities.”

The Wildcats finished the 2016 baseball season with an 8-18 record, though most of their talent was at the junior level. Many expected Woodland to be a force in Region 5-A play for 2017 with prospects such as Brandon Allen, Jacob Frye and Cauy Williams returning.
