ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) and the Cobb-Cherokee Employer Committee will sponsor a seminar for employers on how to maintain a drug-free workplace.   

 The seminar, designed for employers, business owners and human resource (HR) professionals, will be held Thursday, Aug. 22, from 7:30-9 a.m. at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, located at 465 Big Shanty Rd. in Marietta.

 Gretchen Koch of Marietta, a client services manager with the Artimes Group in Cobb County, will conduct the seminar. It’s entitled Components of a Drug-Free Workplace. The Artimes Group is an independent, laboratory coordination firm specializing in the development and maintenance of wellness, clinical and prescription monitoring testing.

Employer committees are groups of local business representatives who establish and maintain working relationships between employers and GDOL career centers. The Cobb-Cherokee Employer Committee is comprised of employers in Cobb and Cherokee counties.
