ATLANTA –The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will help artificial-turf manufacturer FieldTurf hire about 40 temporary employees to work at its plant in Gordon County until October.

The company manufactures synthetic turf for athletic fields, such as football, baseball, and soccer fields.

 

The recruitment will be held Friday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at FieldTurf Tarkett Sports, located at 175 North Industrial Blvd., N.E., in Calhoun. Staff of the GDOL’s Rome Career Center will be on hand to screen the applicants prior to interviews with the company.

The company is hiring warehouse associates, forklift operators, quality-assurance laboratory technicians, inspectors, and other production workers.

Due to U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, applicants must be at least 18 years old. They must also have a high school diploma, or a General Education Diploma (GED), and at least six months experience.

Salaries range from $10.50 to $13 an hour, depending on the type of job and experience of the applicant.

The company will conduct background checks and drug-screening tests on selected applicants.
