ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) and the Georgia Department of Public Safety’s Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD) will host an informational session this week to prepare attendees for a career in law enforcement.

The Law Enforcement Career Opportunity session will provide the information necessary for attendees to pursue a career as a motor compliance officer (MCO). The session will be the first step in the MCCD’s recruitment of as many as 50 officers.

It will be held Thursday, Jan. 28, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center located at 465 Big Shanty Road in Marietta.

The agency is seeking capable, competent professionals who have the ability to interrupt and enforce complex laws, rules and regulations specific to commercial vehicle and driver safety. Those interested must be at least 21 years old and be able to pass a background check and drug-screening test.

The minimum annual salary of MCO’s is $25,242 and ranges up to $37,000 based on experience and or certifications. The MCCD also offers a competitive benefits package along with various training opportunities and career advancements.
