Courtney N. Dubois

The funeral for a woman whose remains were found in a Bartow County landfill on August 13th has been set.

20-year-old Courtney N. Dubois was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina on February 2nd 1998.

Courtney loved animals and was studying to become a veterinarian. Her friends called her the “Psychiatrist” because she enjoyed listening to people and helping them with their problems. She also loved camping, being outdoors, and spending time in the woods. She loved children and looked forward to having her own children someday.

A Bartow County Sanitation worker located a dismembered body part while dumping a compactor container at the landfill, located at 40 Allatoona Dam Road near Emerson. More of her remains were found packed into individual bags at the trash and compactor facility at 15 Cedar Creek Road.

The remains were eventually identified as belonging to Dubois, who was reported missing by the Fairmount Police Department in West Virginia. No arrest has been made.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church in Limestone Maine this Saturday morning at ten o’clock. The committal service will follow at St. Louis Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared at lancastermorgan.com.
