Another person has died from injuries received in a crash that occurred in Bartow on Saturday.  Nineteen-year-old Xavier Thompson was transported to the hospital following the accident, and he died Sunday.  According to preliminary reports from the Georgia State Patrol, on September 27, 2025, at 9:57 pm, Troopers were on the scene of a vehicle accident on Highway 20 at Cline Smith Road in Bartow County. The initial investigation revealed that a yellow Ford Focus was traveling east on GA 20, approaching Cline Smith Road in the right lane. A blue Mitsubishi Outlander was stopped on Cline Smith Road at GA 20 for the red traffic signal. The traffic signal for the blue Outlander turned green, and the driver attempted to proceed through the intersection. The driver of the yellow Focus failed to stop for the red light and struck the Outlander on the left side with the front of the Focus. All four occupants in the Focus succumbed to their injuries, three on scene at the crash, and one occupant was flown to Kennestone Hospital and succumbed to their injuries there. Three occupants from the blue Outlander were taken to Kennestone Hospital for their injuries.

Those killed include Cartersville residents Shaun Miller, age 20, Xavier Thompson, age 19, Isaiah Ross, age 18, and a 15-year-old male.
