Press Release:
The weekend of October 4-6, 2018, firefighters from Cartersville will be in the streets, at local shopping centers and at area businesses collecting funds for the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation’s 29th annual “Give Burns The Boot”® Campaign.
The GFBF was founded in 1982 by a group of DeKalb County Firefighters. Over the last 30 years, the GFBF has grown to incorporate the entire state and expanded its work to include all Georgians. In 1990, the “Give Burns The Boot”® Campaign was started to support the GFBF’s efforts. Since that time, firefighters have continued their support by collecting more than ·14 million dollars and the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation has in turn given back more than $1.4 million to fire departments’ fire safety/burn prevention programs in their communities.
So when you see a firefighter the weekend of October 4-6, please give generously; remember, the life you may help save, could be your very own.
For free fire safety and burn prevention information, contact the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation at 404-320-6223 or 800-273-2876, or visit its web site (www.gfbf.org).
