On Monday morning, a fire caused a significant backup on Cassville White Road west of I-75 between 6:30 and 7:30. The fire began outside Maree Tires and Diesel Truck Repair on 873 Cassville White Road, directly behind Chevron, at around 3:30 in the morning.
Bartow County Fire Chief Dwayne Jamison says the initial report indicates that it started by accident outside near a tractor-trailer storing tires before spreading to the building itself.
The Chevron Food Mart was open throughout the incident, but the pumps were closed because the fire trucks needed a staging area. No one was injured.
