The one vehicle accident occurred in the southbound lane of I-75 Monday afternoon.  According to reports, the accident happened at  12:31 p.m. near the Cass White exit (294).   Bartow County EMS responded with 4 ambulances due to the number of patients involved.   A mini van left the roadway, struck trees in the wood line along the road, before rolling onto its side and coming to a stop. Once on scene, EMS crews requested Life force be en route. One female was transported to the Cartersville Medical Center with numerous trauma injuries. A second female was transported to Kennestone with numerous severe injuries.  The third patient, a male was transported to CMC for cuts and abrasions. The medical helicopter was cancelled due lack of response from the fourth patient.  One of the females taken to the hospital later died from her injuries.  Bartow County, Joel Guyton was called to the scene for the fourth patient.  Numerous agencies responded to the scene including  Bartow County EMS, Bartow County fire, Cartersville fire, the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia State Patrol.
