Press Release:

The Bartow County Board of Elections and Voter Registration wishes to alert the voters of Bartow County that Advance Voting for the June 9th Primary Election will begin Monday, May 18th at 8:00 AM at the Board’s Office located at 1300 Joe Frank Harris Pkwy in Cartersville.  It will continue during normal business hours (Monday – Friday) through Friday, June 5th.  The office will also be open for Advance Voting on Saturday, May 30th from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this will be the only Advance Voting location for this election and the hours will NOT be extended until 6:00 on the last week.

The board continues to encourage all voters to participate through the mail unless there is a need for them to vote in person such as needing assistance.  If voters choose to vote in person, we ask that they wear a mask at all times.  Due to the size of the facility, only 5 voters will be allowed to enter the building at a time.  If a line forms, voters will be asked to take a number and wait their turn from the safety of their personal vehicles.

If a voter receives a ballot through the mail and then chooses to vote in person they should bring it with them.  This will expedite the process to reissue the ballot as well as give the voter an option to turn that ballot in rather than waiting in line.

We realize that many people are distrustful of voting through the mail and would prefer to vote in person.  Voting through the mail is safe, secure, and convenient.  Reports of massive fraud through the mail in Bartow County are simply not true, and we will count every ballot we accept and release the results on Election Night.  The best way to safely make your voice heard during this difficult time is to vote through the mail.
