The Georgia Department of Transportation is advising motorists in Bartow County of a detour off Red Top Mountain Road scheduled for Monday, June 27th to accommodate a filming operation by SM Film Productions, Incorporated.
The portion of Red Top Mountain Road between Old Alabama Road and Joe Frank Harris Parkway will be closed for 24 hours beginning midnight on Monday, June 27th and traffic will be detoured onto State Route 293. The Emerson Police Department will help guide traffic and signs will be placed along the detour route to help motorists navigate around the closed portion of the road. There will be an emergency lane that will be open to emergency vehicles if needed.
This filming operation and the road closure it necessitates are weather permitting and subject to change.
