The name of the man shot at at Cartersville home Saturday night has been released. According to reports, 24 year old Actavious Thompson died from a gunshot wound to the left temple. The investigation is ongoing.
The homicide which occurred at approximately 11:00 p.m. Officers responded to a shots fired call in the vicinity of 21 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Officers located Thompson lying on the ground in the backyard of the residence. They interviewed to men on the scene but no suspect has been taken into custody at this time. Investigators are in the process of interviewing witnesses and have not released any further information. A Kingston man may be involved in the shooting.
